Hi, my name is Lauren Matthies.

I have held many roles in my life, and I believe that they have all helped me arrive at where I am today. The three roles that I often use to define myself are human, mother, and writer, in that order.

The human in me loves and cares for humanity and wants to make the world a better place. The human in me strives to improve myself daily. The human in me is imperfect and ever-evolving.

The mother in me nurtures my children and all those with whom I enter into relationships. I care about people. I want them to feel safe, loved, and accepted exactly as they are.

The writer in me believes that everyone has a story to tell. The writer in me turns to writing at all times—to inspire people, to encourage people, to process my own story, and to inspire and motivate myself.

Ever since I was a child, I have been a nurturer, a caretaker, one who strives to help others. My goal is to bring good into the world—to aid and benefit all whom with whom I have the fortune of meeting. And, my boys are my inspiration, my joy, and my priority.
